It’s not about that

is an upcoming solo performance written by Jeffrey Choy,
supported by Metal Culture Peterborough.

The piece reflects on our perceptions and the often absurd nature of beliefs, question the very foundations of our rationality and existence; perspective on the complexities of belief, identity, and the search for understanding in a bewildering world.

“so much humility in [Jeffrey’s] words but also such a reflection of the way he loves the world we’re in”
- Vinna Law, friend, actor, writer

Jeffrey Choy joins Metal Culture Peterborough in Spring 2024 as one of their three artist in residence.

During his residency, Jeffrey will explore and research masculinity both on a personal and wider societal level, and how patriarchy affects social change. His goal during the residency is to better understand these phenomena, opening dialogues that address the immovable force that is partisanship, and how we can best navigate spaces within echo chambers and misinformation. He will be experimenting with creating interactive installation and/or performances and tackle the topic with a wider network and resources through workshops, interviews and more.

See also another project from the residency, Right Redacted.

It's not about that is a WIP project based on the research and writing produced in the residency. Watch this space.
